Are you considering a job in the medical field? Want to improve your resume to appeal to human resource departments at hospitals?

You might benefit from time spent as a volunteer for hospice. Hospice volunteers are unique in that they are trained for over 16 hours as is mandated by the State of Michigan (your state may have different requirements).

Unsure what volunteering involves or would you like to learn more about volunteerism? There are two ways you can dive into getting educated on volunteerism.

  1. The Resource Center “is an organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism

The Center provides management consulting and technical assistance services to nonprofit agencies, volunteer referrals to community programs, volunteer leadership training, and information (in the form of publications and a telephone help-line) regarding the availability of various human services in Genesee County.” [Source: rescen.org] Even if you don’t live in Genesee County, use the Resource Center as a model for forward volunteer movement nationwide.
